Ginger Snaps from my Mom (Goldia Hawkins Wray)
Cream together: 3/4 C Butter or shortening and 1 C Sugar Add: 1 egg and 6 Tbls Molasses and mix well. Add: 2 1/2 C Flour, 2 Tsp Soda, 1 Tsp Salt, 4 Tsp Ginger, 2 Tsp Cinnamon, Mix well. Form into balls, roll in sugar and bake at 375 until light brown. Store in air tight container while warm to keep soft. My dad loved these, and as a special treat for him, mom would add raisins.
